Is HIV a contraindication for ultrasound on the hand for tendonitis?

Hello All,

I work as an OT with a Hand Therapy Department. I'm hoping to get some support / clarification with this question. The HIV is well managed by medication by the patient.

Thank you for your time.

So far as I am aware, HIV is not specifically identified in any publication as being a known contraindication to the use of ultrasound - I assume that you would take normal infection control measures - that kind of goes without saying. Any help? Tim
